Hope Junior
This school year, Chicago Cares has been sponsoring a weekly Math and Science Club tutoring program for 12 Hope Junior participants. Their individualized tutoring program has made it possible to make some real strides academically and in developing relationships with the children. They will be ending the school year with a trip to Pump It UP! Our children are quite excited about this trip. We are grateful to Chicago Cares we look forward to working with them again in September.
In addition to Chicago Cares, DePaul University tutors have also been coming weekly to tutor children and teens from Hope Junior. The tutors have been extraordinarily dedicated. In addition to their tutoring, they have been coming to programs on weekends and in the evenings. Several times they have brought our children to DePaul for tours and fun events. They ended the school year by tie-dying shirts and several students participated in a poetry slam at DePaul. For over 12 years DePaul has been arranging for students to participate in year-long tutoring. We are grateful for such a longstanding relationship with one of Chicago’s Vincentian University!
