New Bikes for Hope Junior Kids

Marriott employees gave back to Marillac Social Center on July 13.  Thanks to the hard work of a team building exercise, 10 children from Hope Junior got to take home brand new bikes that were built with the hands of Marriott employees.   The participants worked on five girls bikes and five boys bikes throughout the day, checking them for safety and proper assembly.  At the end of the day, they surprised the fourth and fifth graders with a bike complete with a new helmet to take home. 

Kept a surprise, the Hope Junior students ventured out to the Oak Brook Marriott as a special field trip.  They were first asked to judge the “commercials” the teams performed to present the bikes.  At the end of the commercials, the leader told the children to pick a bike.  After getting over their surprise that these bikes were meant for them, the kids took them for a test ride before loading them into the Marillac truck to take them back to their own homes.  It was a special day for both the children from Marillac, and for the staff from the Marriott.
