At Marillac House, we place a strong emphasis on staff professionalism and encourage on-going education in order to maintain our quality employee standards. Currently, we exceed the teacher credential standards required by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and the Chicago Public Schools Community Partnership Program, which supports high quality early childhood programs.
Our Child Development Staff
Michelle Howell, director of Marillac House Early Childhood Education. Ms. Howell holds an AA Degree with 35 plus years of experience, 27 of those years at Marillac. She supervises the activities of 5 toddler and and 4 pre-school classrooms, 26 teaching staff and an administrative assistant.
Zola Womack, director of Marillac House School Age Program. She holds an AA Degree from Harold Washington College in early childhood education and has continued her studies at Roosevelt University and Columbia College in Chicago. Zola has 30 years of working experience at Marillac.
Edna Brown, is Marillac's Child Care Program Secretary and has been with Marillac for 8 1/2 years. Edna provides secretarial and administrative support for the directors of Pre-School and School Age programs. Edna also maintains records in accordance with established governmental regulations and NAEYC accreditation standards.
Chris Johnson, director of Marillac House Social Services. Mrs. Johnson has a MA degree in Counseling. Chris has been employed with Marillac for 28 years. Chris supervises 2 clinical staff members that provides support services to the children in the Prevention Initiative, Pre-School, School-Age, and Project Hope Programs. Chris has over 31 years of experience in the social services world.
